The 3rd Annual Doylestown Jingle Bell Turkey Trot 10k, 5k, Lil' Elves 1/2 Mile Fun Run & 2 mile Reindeer Walk will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018!

The beautiful and festive Market at DelVal will be hosting this one of a kind 10k, 5k, 1/2 Mile Kid's Fun Run and 2 Mile Walk at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 24th!

This family friendly running event at The Market at DelVal is not to be missed! 

HERE ARE THE AWESOME DETAILS REGARDING THIS GROUND BREAKING EVENT:

First off.....this is a ground breaking run course that you will have to experience first hand to believe...THE US 202 PARKWAY WILL BE COMPLETELY CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC for the entirety of all three runs!!!

Why are we calling it the Jingle Bell Turkey Trot? Because we have some incredibly happy holiday festivities planned for all of the runners and their families!! 

Second....guess who's flying in for the event?

Yes...FLYING IN!!!! SANTA will be arriving by HELICOPTER just after the awards ceremony at 11:00am!

JUST THE FACTS:

9:00 START TIME: The Lil Elves Fun Run Starts at 8:50 AM and then the 10k run will begin PROMPTLY at 9:00 followed by the 5k run at 9:05 and then finally the walkers will start at 9:10.


RUN ON THE US 202 PARKWAY!!! All three runs and the walk will be completely on the US 202 Parkway! (yes it's COMPLETELY CLOSED TO VEHICLE TRAFFIC!!) This is VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY to run actually ON the parkway with all of your closest friends and NO CARS!  It's THE PERFECT route for an 10k & 5k...it's beautiful, rolling and there are NO CARS!!!
*Strollers are welcome...but we ask that they start towards the rear of the start. 

WHY ARE WE ORGANIZING THIS EVENT: Because we want to bring folks together in a meaningful way, get friends and families OUTSIDE to enjoy our beautiful area that we live in and most importantly, to raise funds for the Wissahickon Watershed Association!
Again, Scoogie Events, Doylestown Township and The Market at DelVal are holding nothing back and pulling out all of the stops to make sure that this event of it's kind will truly be one for the memory books...(Even the big man himself is flying in for this event...It really doesn't get any bigger than that!!!)

Having the beautiful & Market at DelVal, Doylestown Township and the new US 202 Parkway play host to this event is a dream come true. 
This is a THE perfect location to host an event like this and the US 202 Parkway is THE perfect run course. The combination of these factors and the fact that Scoogie Events is bringing this race to you and will see to it that all runners needs and desires are met, means that this race is surly not to be missed.

AWARDS: "You ask for it.....we deliver": From now on, ALL Scoogie events age group awards will be in FIVE YEAR age increments!! Awesome awards for age groups in both the 8k & 5k runs! Awards given for 10K & 5k only, Kids Run is for FUN! Overall winner (male and female), plus top three males and females in each age category: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. No mailing of awards or shirts. 
**A RUNNER EMAIL WAS SENT OUT TO ALL REGISTERED RUNNERS ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH AS WELL AS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19th OUTLINING THE DETAILS OF THE RACE AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RACE DAY** 
Packet Pick up will be at The Joseph Ambler Inn the on Wednesday, November 21st. The time for PPU will most likely be from 4-7 but this will be confirmed closer to the event.  

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ON PARKING:

THERE IS A 1/2 MILE WALK FROM THE DELVAL UNIVERSITY CAMPUS TO THE MARKET (REGISTRATION).

PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING EARLY SO THAT YOU ARE NOT RUSHED. ALSO..DRESS WARMLY!!! THERE WILL BE A BAG CHECK PROVIDED.

THE ADDRESS FOR PARKING IS THE SAME ADDRESS THAT IS FOR THE RACE: 2100 LOWER STATE RD.

THERE WILL BE A RUNNER/SPECTATOR DROP OFF AREA AT ENTRANCE TO THE MARKET'S MAIN PARKING LOT ON FARM VIEW ROAD FROM 6:15-7:15. PULL INTO FARM VIEW RD (OFF OF LOWER STATE RD) TO THE VOLUNTEER WITH THE ORANGE VEST ON. THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN (SHOULD YOU CHOOSE) DROP OFF THE RUNNERS & SPECTATORS. IT IS 25 YARDS FROM REGISTRATION (WHICH IS INSIDE THE MARKET:-)

PARKING WILL BE AT THE DELVAL UNIVERSITY PARKING LOTS WHICH ARE APPROXIMATELY A 1/2 MILE FROM THE REGISTRATION AREA (WHICH IS AT THE MARKET AT DELVAL).

PLEASE ENTER THE MARKET AT DELVAL'S MAIN ENTRANCE WHICH IS FARM VIEW RD OFF OF LOWER STATE RD.

PLEASE FOLLOW SIGNS AND VOLUNTEERS WITH FLASHLIGHTS (BECAUSE IT WILL BE DARK WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT 6:15/6:30 PAST THE MARKET AT DELVAL'S MAIN PARKING LOT...(THIS PARKING LOT IS RESERVED FOR HANDICAP, EMPLOYEE, VOLUNTEER & VENDOR PARKING ONLY).

PROCEED DRIVING STRAIGHT FOLLOWING VOLUNTEERS WITH FLASHLIGHTS AND PARKING SIGNS TO THE DESIGNATED PARKING LOTS WITHIN DELVAL UNIVERSITY.

ONCE YOU PARK YOU CAR, YOU CAN BEGIN TO WALK THE SAME WAY YOU DROVE IN, BACK TO THE MARKET AT DELVAL (WHICH IS WHERE REGISTRATION IS).

VOLUNTEERS WILL BE LINING THE WALK FROM THE PARKING LOTS TO REGISTRATION SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE TO GO.

THERE WILL BE SHUTTLES VIA A TRACTOR WITH AN OPEN TRAILER THAT HOLDS 60 PEOPLE. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE ARE OPEN TRAILERS AND YOU NEED TO DRESS WARMLY SHOULD YOU OPT FOR THIS FORM OF TRANSPORTATION BACK TO THE MARKET AT DELVAL.

PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING EARLY (7:15) TO GET TO THE REGISTRATION TENT BETWEEN THE TIMES OF 7:30-8:15.

NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER OR PICK UP PACKETS AFTER 8:15 AM

IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT SOMEONE WILL NEED TO BE WITH YOUR KIDS AFTER THEIR FUN RUN TO ESCORT THEM BACK TO THE MARKET AT DELVAL WHICH IS WHERE THERE WILL BE BOUNCE HOUSES SET UP (AS LONG AS THE WEATHER PERMITS) AND HOT CHOCOLATE & COOKIES.

AND THIS IS WHERE THE FINISH LINE WILL BE AS WELL AS WHERE SANTA WILL ARRIVE.

ALSO NOTE: PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT IT MAY BE A BIT OF A WAIT FROM THE END OF THE AWARDS CEREMONY UNTIL SANTA ARRIVES SO PLEASE BRING PLENTY OF WARM CLOTHES. (we will have plenty of hot chocolate & cookies for all registered athletes to help keep you warm) 

THERE WILL BE A BAG CHECK BY NOLAN PAINTING AT THE REGISTRATION TENT.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. Is there a central location that is easy for meeting up?

ANSWER: YES, MOST CHOOSE THE FINISH LINE (WHICH IS IN FRONT OF THE MARKET AT DELVAL) FOR A MEETING PLACE.

2. Where exactly will Santa be arriving?

ANSWER: SANTA WILL BE ARRIVING AT 11:00 AM IN FRONT (AND JUST TO THE RIGHT) OF THE MARKET AT DELVAL.

3. Post-race, will we be able to get back and forth from the activities to the parking area?

ANSWER: YES, YOU CAN GO BACK AND FORTH TO YOUR CAR WHICH IS PARKED AT DELVAL UNIVERSITY BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A 1/2 MILE WALK.

4. My friends & relatives will be accompanying me to the race for moral support at the beginning. Is there any area where she'd be able to wait/watch while I run?

ANSWER: SPECTATORS CAN WALK TO THE START LINE (1/4 MILE...5-10 MINUTE WALK) WITH THE RUNNERS (AND ARE ENCOURAGED TO DO SO BECAUSE WE HAVE A SPECIAL TREAT FOR EVERYONE THERE). AND, THE KID'S RUN AT 8:50 IS NOT TO BE MISSED:-) AND THEN, ONCE THE 5K RUNS HAS STARTED, THEY CAN WALK BACK TO THE MARKET WHICH IS WHERE THE FINISH LINE AND ACTIVITIES ARE LOCATED.

Note: If you are registered for this race and you registered in time to choose a t shirt/1/4 zip size BUT you are unable to run for whatever reason, you will NEED TO CONTACT us BEFORE RACE DAY and let us know if you'd like us to hold on to your reserved giveaway (t shirt or 1/4 zip) for you to pick up at a future Scoogie Event. If you do not do this, we cannot hold you shirt and it will be given to someone that registered after the deadline. We cannot mail shirts.
